Addition up to 3 digits

In this exercise, called "Slicing the Numbers," you will calculate the sum of different coloured bricks by slicing the stacks and performing the addition one colour at a time. Begin by adding the yellow bricks (ones), then the green bricks (tens), and finally the blue bricks (hundreds). Keep slicing until there is at most one brick of each colour remaining.

Subtraction with 2 digits

Subtraction can be a difficult concept for children to grasp.

To subtract, you can start by taking off the one’s place and then stack the yellow newmero bricks to represent the remaining number.
